Seyi Adewunmi has been returned as the President of Lagos Country Club Ikeja.
He and seven others were announced by a past president of the Club and the Chairman of the Electoral Panel, Alakoso Femi Olanipekun, as the new executive officers of the club on Friday night as they were unopposed in the election.
The other officers that emerged are Engr Tunji Amosu (Vice President), Toyin Deinde (Secretary-General), Otunba Abimbola Olaniyi (Treasurer), Francis Ofordu (Membership Secretary), Vincent Olasogba (Sports Secretary), Ose Lato (Social Secretary) and Arc. Tokunbo Ashiru (Committee Member). They are to be innaugurated on Friday, June 6, 2025.
This development ends over a year of stagnation due to internal crisis which saw the club being managed by two different sets of Caretaker Committees. The crisis led to several court cases which distracted the management of the club.
However, earlier this year, the Board of Trustees of the club chaired by Aare Kola Oyefeso initiated a mediation in line with an earlier court-mandated truce. This move set into progress the election which brought in the new officers.
Founded in 1949, Lagos Country Club Ikeja is one of Nigeria’s foremost sports and family clubs.
