TODAY IN HISTORY

  • On this day in 2002, the International Court of Justice ruled against Nigeria after Cameroon laid claim to the oil-rich Bakassi peninsula which was under Nigeria’s jurisdiction.
  • On this day in 1933, United Airlines Boeing 247 exploded killing all seven passengers and crew. The airplane which was flying from New Jersey to California exploded mid-air and crashed near Chesterton, Indiana. To this day, it is not known what and who caused the explosion.
