- The original London Bridge constructed in 1831, is now in Arizona. In the 1960s, it began deteriorating and the City of London decided to sell it. In 1963, American entrepreneur Robert P. McCulloch bought and dismantled the bridge, shipping it to Lake Havasu City in Arizona piece by piece. The reconstruction took three years to complete and opened as a tourist attraction on October 10, 1971.
